Margaret Donahue, daughter of Henry and Mary Agnes Donahue was born in Jackson County, Missouri, December 12th, 1869. When four of age she moved with her parents to Linn County, Kansas, where she grew to womanhood.

She was mamrried to Franklin Groom March 10, 1892. She moved with her husband to Greenwood County in March 1898. She died at her home in Janesvill Township February 8, 1924. To this union were born five children, three sons;

1.Ernest Groom 1 December 1892 Linn Co., Kansas-29 June 1974
2.John Groom 20 June 1894 Linn Co., Kansas -15 June 1989

3.Franklin, Jr. 25 December 1898 Linn Co., Kansas

4. Mrs. Theresa French

5.Zelma Groom.11 October 1905-4 July 2000 married Paul Francis Trainer 8 October 189801 October 1942 borth buried Wenatchee City Cemetery, Chelan Co., Washington

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, her children, two brothers and two sisters, also a large circle of friends. She was baptized in the Catholic Church when a small child. Funeral services were held from the Catholic Church, Eureka with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.

Franklin married 2nd time George Gestenlager on 12 December 1927 in Emporia, Kansas.
George Gestenlager born 1 March 1882 Iuka, Kansas died 31 March 1960 both Buried Greenwood Cemetery.

*Note that though Maggie's grave marker is engraved Grooms, her husband was Groom, and her obit was Groom. At least some of the children did adopt the "s" on the last of their surname. So researchers should try both spellings. - Lila Cole #46507767
