Emma E. (Fisher) Albert was born in Womelsdorf, Berks County, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Adam L. Fisher and Amelia (Filbert) Fisher. Although her headstone indicates that she was born in 1851, the death certificate signed for her by her husband (the Pine Grove area physician Dr. J.V. Albert) and her obituary both indicate that she was born on 28 Oct 1850.

Emma was residing in Stouchsburg at the time that she met her future husband, John Valentine Albert, MD. They were married at the home of Frank Wenrich in Ashland, Schuylkill County on 30 September 1867.

Dr. Albert was born in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, the son of a grist miller. Known throughout his life as "J.V. Albert," his first name often appears as "Jon" in records of that period.

Emma and J.V. had two sons: David L. Albert, who died at six months of age in 1870, and Claude Nester Albert (1873-1948), the long-time proprietor of a stationery store in Pine Grove. Claude's son, Allen, would go on to co-own and operate Albert's Clothing store in Pine Grove with his wife, Nona (Snyder) Albert, the daughter of John Hartranft Snyder, one of the co-founders of the Lavelle Telephone and Telegraph Company in Lavelle, Pennsylvania.

At the close of one century and dawn of another, J.V. served as the physician for Schuylkill County's alms house and one term as that county's deputy coroner.

Following an illness of several months, Emma (Fisher) Albert died in Pine Grove at 1:15 p.m. on 1 April 1915. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. from the Albert family home on Main and Pottsville Streets in Pine Grove, and were officiated by the Rev. S. Sidney Kohler. Emma was then laid to rest in the Albert family section of the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pine Grove.

She was survived by her husband, their son, Claude, and two grandchildren; her sister, Mrs. Andrew Klopp (Stouchsburg); and her brothers: Ezra, Lewis, Michael, and Morris Fisher (Philadelphia, Myerstown, Stouchsburg, and Mt. Aetna, respectively).
