William Green Wear started the Mountain View Cemetery in 1915. It was also known as the Wear Family Cemetery.

WILLIAM G. WEAR

The remains of W. G. Wear, who passed away in Prescott May 10th, was brought to Sunset, his former home for interment. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hardie Connor of this city, last Friday afternoon at the Mountain View Cemetery on Upper Ash Creek, with a large crowd of friends and former neighbors present. The remains were laid to rest by the side of his wife, who preceded him, having passed away May 22, 1922.
William G. Wear was born in San Saba, San Saba County, Texas, August 16, 1856. At the time of demise he was 70 years 9 months and 25 days of age.
He was married to Miss Sarah Jane Boyd in San Saba County in 1877. To this union eight children were born, one son, Herbert preceding him in death, passing away 11 years ago. The other children are all living, namely, Mrs. Kate Barrett, Mrs. Myrtle Tenney, Mrs. Beulah Crawford, all of Prescott, Mrs. A. E. Norton of Lovington, California., Mrs. Minnie Morgan of Los Angeles, J. W. Wear, whose address is unknown and W. D. Wear of this city.
The children were all present at the funeral except Mrs. Norton and J. W. Wear.
Mr. Wear came to Arizona in 1909 accompanied by his family. He located on Upper Ash Creek and resided there for several years, going to California a few years ago, but returned to Arizona, locating at Prescott.
Mr. Wear was well known in this section and the bereaved family have the sympathy of this community in their loss.
William Green Wear started the Mountain View Cemetery in 1915. It was also known as the Wear Family Cemetery.
