James Howell was born in NJ, he married Sarah (?) and together, they had 10 Children. They lived briefly in VA, then moved to Gallia Co, OH, from there they moved ever westward and in 1825 they settled in Oakley Township, Macon Co, IL. This was their home for the rest of their lives. Many of the children stayed in the area and others continued the westward move to Missouri and settled there for a couple of generations. But this was a family of Pioneer stock and each generation continued the path set forth by James moving ever west looking for opportunity for them and their families.

Your strength, fortitude, and pioneer spirit live on in your descendents to this day. I myself was born in CA, lived in Europe, back to VA, then to CA, OR, IL, NJ, NC and am now in my maturity in GA. So your genes live on.
