REDFIELD — Redfield village was shocked Saturday evening April 2, 1955, by the sudden death of Lewis Archibee, aged 75 years. Mr. Archibee who was very active on his farm on Redfield-Williamstown Road was stricken early Saturday morning with a coronary thrombosis. He was taken to the Williamstown Nursing home and placed in an oxygen tent. He passed away about 7 o'clock p.m.
He was born in Redfield, July 20, 1880, a son of the late Joseph and Matilda Sullivan Archibee and always lived here, working as a woodsman. For the last 37 years he has run the old homestead farm.
Nov. 25, 1911, he married Miss Maude Look a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Look of Williamstown.
She survives him with four children, Lena, Mrs. Leland Williams, Robert and Vernon Archibee all of Redfield and Howard Archibee of Florence, N. Y., seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Anson of Westernville, Ohio and one brother, Joe, of Redfield.
He was a member of Redfield I.O.O.F., having joined on July 31, 1928. Members of Redfield Oddfellow and Rebekah Lodges held at Memorial Service at the funeral home on Monday evening. April 7, 1955. Sandy Creeks News
