MRS. J. L. ANDERSON, ELDERLY CITIZEN OF COUNTY, DIEDS MAR. 11
The passing of another of this county's elderly citizens was noted this week, when it became known that Mrs. Theodosia Narramore Anderson, widow of the late James Logan Anderson, had passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Taylor, in Pomona, on Sunday, March 11, about 7 P.M.
At native of this county, Mrs. Anderson had reached the advanced age of 86 years, 10 months and 10 days. Funeral services were held in Pomona Tuesday afternoon.
Music for the service was given by Dr. H. F. Lawson, who sang "Face to Face" and "In the Garden", with Mrs. H. I. Bilbrey at the instrument.
Burial took place in the Pomona Cemetery, resides the last resting place of her son, James, who passed away May 10, 1954. Pallbearers were all grandsons.
Her late husband, remembered her by many as James L. (Chuck) Anderson, preceded her in death on May 12, 1923. He is buried in the Anderson family cemetery, near Pleasant Hill, but rather inaccessible at the present time, so the family decided to place her near her son, James. She was long a member of the Taylor's Chapel Methodist Church.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by 10 children; 29 grandchildren, and a half-sister, Mrs. Emily Narramaore Kenworthy, who lives in California; and a half-brother, Charles Hyder, who lives here.
Her children who survive are six sons; Napoleon, (Whitesville, W. Virginia); William, Ed and Jack (Dayton, Ohio) and Jerry (Morehead, Ky.); four daughters, Mrs. S. F. (Nancy)McLemore (Birmingham, Alabama); Mrs. Clark (Mattie) Hughes, Mrs. Hollis (Ollie) Hughes, Mrs. Jim (Nellie) Dayton, all of whom live in the Pomona community .
Mrs. Anderson's passing is the third in her immediate family, and she is survived by a total of 88 descendants.
