Annabel Brown, 93, of Rough Creek Community in San Saba County, passed away, Sunday, September 7, 2008 in Temple, Texas.

She was born August 11, 1915 at the Rough Creek Community, the daughter of George W. Long and Willie Josephine Beauchamp. Annabel was a past president of the Garden Club, and a member of the Eastern Star. On January 10, 1948, Annabel Long and Ted Brown Jr. were married at the Methodist parsonage in San Saba, Texas. She attended the Presbyterian church.

She is survived by her husband, Ted Brown Jr., of Rough Creek Community in San Saba County; one son, Alan Dale Brown, and his wife, Mitzie, of Rough Creek Community; one daughter, Barbara Hardy. and her husband, Les, of Red Bluff Community in Lampasas County; grandchildren: Jenna Lee Bronstad and her husband, Troy, of Jourdanton, TX; Christopher Michael Brown and his wife, Jennifer, of Little Elm, TX; Joshua Alan Brown of Sonora; Russell Lee Hardy of Denver City, TX; Michael Aaron Hardy of Montclair, NJ; and Eryn Michelle Wilcoxen and her husband, Jay, of Brownwood; great-grandchildren: Sterling Gene Bronstad, Savannah Lee Bronstad, Caleb Christopher Brown, James Russell Hardy, Alexandra Jade Wilcoxen, and Peyton Rae Wilcoxen; one sister, Bernice McWilliams, of Anchorage, Alaska; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene Long and Clifford Long; and one sister, Mary Lee Roberts.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba, with Rev. Tom Brand officiating. Interment will follow at the Chappel Cemetery in San Saba County.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba.

Family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba County EMS.
