Wilmer S Diehl, 85, of Cashtown died Thursday morning at the Gettysburg Hospital where he had been a patient for three and a half weeks.
Born in Orrtanna, he was the son of the late John H and Anna M (Schwartz) Diehl. His wife, the late Esther M (Riggeal) died in 1979.
He was a member of Flohr's Lutheran Church. He was involved Fruit Farming in the Cashtown-Orrtanna area most of his life. He was a former member of the Knouse Food Co-op. He was a member of the Mt. Orchard Corporation. He is a retired School Bus Driver and a 50 year member and past President of Cashtown Fire Company. He was a member of the Cashtown-McKnightstown Senior Citizens.
He is survived by one son, Fredrick R Diehl of Gaithersburg, Md., one brother, Howard C Diehl of Fairfield; and a number of nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 am at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with the Rev Douglas Y Boden officiating. Interment will be held at Flohr's Lutheran Cemetery.
