Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" was born on Saturday, March 26, 1864 and baptized at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Millwood, Lincoln County, Missouri on September 1, 1864. Although she married in the Catholic Church she attended the nearby Regular Baptist Church at Siloam. Lizzie's obituary in the Bowling Green Times stated she united with the Regular Baptist Church at Siloam in December 1890, eight years after her marriage to John William Willis. Lizzie died in Louisiana, Pike County, Missouri on Saturday, February 2, 1901 at the age of 36 years, 10 months and 7 days. Death certificates were not required by the state at the time of her death therefore the actual cause is unknown. However it may have been related to childbirth since she is buried near an infant son who died the same year. Only the name "Lizzie" is engraved on the tombstone.
