Ernest W. Meinhardt, of Clarissa, formerly of Aldrich, was born October 1, 1926 to Arthur and Emma (Hannemann) Meinhardt in Bertha, Minnesota. He passed away, at the age of 81, on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at his home in Clarissa. Ernie was united in marriage with Eunice Fossum on August 10, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bartlett Township. He served in the United States Army from April 1953 to January 1955. He was a member of the American Legion. Ernie was a farmer, an operator of a laundromat, and a fuel truck driver for an oil station. He enjoyed dart ball and playing cards. Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice in 1998; and parents, Arthur and Emma. He is survived by daughter, Sandra Meinhardt of Petaluma, CA; granddaughter, Nicole Tolentino; brothers, Roy (Devona) Columbia Heights, and Arthur (Myrna) of Lakeville; sisters, Marcella (Elmer) Arndt of Staples, Ruth (Alan) Smith of Aurora, CO, and Alice Rooney of Osseo. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bartlett with Reverend Al Jeske officiating. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Bartlett.
