Born on the farm in Bartlett Township, MN the last of 6 children, he always loved farming. He enjoyed attending threshing shows with his brother, Ernie, and adored his brothers and sisters.
November 4, 1961 he married the love of his life, Myrna, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bartlett Township, MN.
Arthur served in the Air Force for 26 years as a computer systems analyst where he received his nickname Skip. He and the family were lucky to travel the world including highlights of living in Guam, Germany and many tours in Nebraska. Attending and working at all of the Air Shows was an annual favorite.
After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Mutual of Omaha, Thrivent, Sam's Club, and ultimately drove school bus for Lakeville Public Schools. Seeing the kids everyday kept him feeling young.
A staunch family man with dedication to serving his wife and children with his exceptional work ethic, Dad was always working and having fun while doing it. He loved umpiring softball as much as playing. When he wasn't working, or umpiring, his gardens and lawn provided joy. He also followed his beloved Minnesota Twins faithfully. Not only did he love the Twins, but followed the Vikings, as well as always a fan of the Gophers.
The last few years, Mom and Dad fulfilled a life long dream of snow birding in Apache Junction, AZ. Warm weather, sunshine, and new friends brought incredible joy.
Survived by loving wife of 60 years, Myrna; son Tim, daughter Michelle (Colin) Bigalke; Grandchildren Jonathon, Jennifer, Timothy Neal, Benjamin, and Sydney. Funeral services at Heritage Lutheran Church (13401 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Apple Valley) 11 am, visitation 10-11 am. Funeral services provided by White Funeral Home. Interment at a later date.
