Born in Landrum, SC to the late Alexander Lafayette Campbell and Phoebe Pearl Queen Campbell, she lived most of her life in Brevard. She was a First Daughter of the Daughters of the Confederacy, South Carolina Chapter, and a member of the Open Arms Tabernacle Church of God for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Trio and church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Curlee, and her second husband, Clarence Curlee, a number of brothers and sisters including a twin brother, Agnew Campbell, a granddaughter, Lucinda Curlee, and a grandson, Troy Drye.
Surviving are three sons, Barry Curlee and wife Carol of Brevard, Edward Curlee of Gallatin, TN, and Lewis Curlee and wife Kathy of Etowah; two daughters, Doris Selvage and husband Rayburn of Gallatin, TN, and Brenda Holden and husband Richard of Brevard; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Curlee, Stefanie Huffstetler and husband Chris, Ellis Curlee, Cindy Hand and husband Jurell, Brandon Lance and wife Amanda, Angela Stallsworth and husband Tim, Gina Hull and husband Brian, and Richard Holden and wife Leslie; 16 great-grandchildren, Kristen, Hannah and Joshua Huffstetler, Samuel and Olivia Curlee, D'Andre and Shayla Hand, Kayla and Kamden Lance, Brittany, Kira, and Brandon Collins, Brandon Binkley, Braden Stallsworth, Ty and Mae Holden; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Open Arms Tabernacle with the Revs. Christopher Huffstetler, Larry May, John Devine, and Don Johnson officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Baucom, Harry Holden, Greg Holden, Brandon Holden, Marty Pressley, and John Pressley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rayburn Selvage, and the great-grandsons. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Friday at the church.
