Mrs. Franklin was born on September 1, 1917, and passed away on December 16, 2010, in Rayville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Jones, her first husband, Buddy Cook, her second husband, Sam Franklin, and four sisters and four brothers. To friends and family she was known as Ms. Irma and to her kids as "MeMe". Mrs. Franklin was employed at Delta Sales department store for 17 years. She and her husband then managed Boughton's Cleaners for 20 years. In 1993, Mrs. Franklin received the Oldest Worker Award given by the Council on Aging. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Rayville and an active member of The TEL Sunday School Class. She also enjoyed many fun times and trips as an active member of Saints Alive. Survivors include her daughter Billie Jo Boughton, and her husband Floyd Bruce; grandchildren LeAnn Thomason and her husband Lasley, and Billy Bruce Boughton; great grandchildren Lee Thomason and his wife Nikki, and Sarah Jo Thomason; and a great great granddaughter, Ali. Pallbearers will be nephews Fred Pee, Andy Pee, Arnold Cook, and friends Carlton Clark, Billy Whitten, and B. J. McKnight. The family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Manor Nursing Home as well as Richland Hospice for the care given to her.
