Tilden Sherman Mauk, age 66, of Surgoinsville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, June 17, 2008, at his residence following an extended illness.

He served in the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam. He was retired from the Hawkins County Board of Education and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church where he served the Lord as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Bertha Mauk; two brothers, Edward and Shird Mauk; and two sisters, Ruth Presley and an infant sister.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Mauk of the home; two daughters, Tammy Ramey and husband, Anthony, and Conalita Reeves and husband, Robert, Jr. all of Rogersville; four grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew Boggs, and Nikolas and Dakota Reeves; three sisters, Ola Barton and husband, Oscar, Nava Jo Caldwell, Carolyn Castiglioni and husband, Leo all of Surgoinsville; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Anderson and Rev. Freddy Freeman officiating. Hawkins County Color Guard and the Tennessee Army National Guard will conduct military honors 10 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens.
