BOSWELL, Okla. -- Henry H. Belvin, 71, of Boswell, brother of the principal chief of the Choctaw Nation, Harry J. W. Jimmie Belvin, of Durant, died Tuesday morning in the United States Public Health Hospital at Talihina.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the First United Methodist Church in Boswell. Burial will be made in Restland Cemetery by Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo.

Henry Harrison Belvin was born July 27, 1903, in Boswell, Indian Territory, a son of Watson Belvin and Mary [sic] (Powers) Belvin. He was a lifelong resident of Choctaw County and was a member of Good Springs Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah H. Belvin and seven sons, Dante Belvin of Broken Bow, Virgil Belvin of Millerton, Henry Belvin Jr. of Soper, Johnny Belvin of Boswell, Richard Belvin of Boswell, Vernon Belvin of Midwest City and Solomon Belvin of Durant; four daughters, Miss Debbie Belvin of Boswell, Mrs. Lavada Frazier of Wardville, Mrs. Jimmie Lou Pierce of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Virginia Rutledge of Millerton; 33 grand-children and three great-grandchildren. Three brothers are Chief Napoleon Belvin and Willie Belvin, both of Boswell and Dr. Frank Belvin of Okmulgee.
