He was born January 6, 1930, in Louisville, Miss., the son of William and Ona (Frazier) Carter. He retired from John Deere, where he was employed as a fork lift driver. He was a member of Third Missionary Baptist Church. He married Mary Cooper.
Preceding him in death were his wife and a son, Jimmy.
Survivors include daughters, Debra Ann Lard, Mary Ann Solomon, Edna Pearl Carter and Vera Elaine Carter, Davenport; sons, Willie Lee, Albert, Calvin, Robert and Eric, Davenport, and William "Ronnie" Carter, Sioux Falls, S.D.; a sister, Bernice Burrage, Louisville, Miss.; over 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; special grandchildren raised by grandparents, LaSondra Carter, Andre Lard, D?man Duke and Angela Hodges, Davenport; and special friend, DeLesia, and children, Davenport.
