JOS. OTTO
Joseph Otto died at his home No. 1512 Sixth avenue, Beaver Falls, at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, 1901. The cause of his death was a general break down, he having been in very poor health for a long time. During his enlistment in the Union army in the war of the Rebellion he was wounded in the foot and this was always a source of trouble to him as it did not heal properly. Deceased enlisted in a New York regiment and served for several years.
He moved to Beaver Falls about 33 years ago and up until his death he practiced his trade of carpenter. He was also a contractor. He was a member of New Castle Commandery Knights Templar, and was a member of the Union Veteran Legion.
During his residence here the deceased served a number of years on the Board of Education and a year ago he was elected to fill Jacob Freed's unexpired term.
Deceased was an ardent Democrat in politics and enjoyed the confidence and respect of a very large acquaintance.
His wife died about 12 years ago. He is survived by six sons, Max, Percy L., Homer, Ira, Earl and Lloyd and one daughter, Mrs. Grace Emery, of Oramel, N. Y.
