Myrtice Cloud Valentine, 86, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Dr. Kenneth Cloud and Rev. James Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Charles Donald Southall, Chris Southall, Cory Southall, Bobby Rhoades and Johnny Barber serving as active pallbearers and Joe Peters, Danny Guthrie, Frank Spooner, Chuck Matthews and John Comerford serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Myrtice was born August 12, 1924 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Noah Solomon Cloud and Florrie Alma King. She taught Sunday School and served on the cemetery committee for Mt. Olive Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Valentine was a retired sales clerk and a bookkeeper for McCrory's Dime Store. She loved reading, gardening, and watching birds from her porch.

Survivors include her grandsons, Chris Southall and his wife, Dedee, of Valdosta, GA, Donny Southall and his wife, Priscilla, of Bainbridge, GA; her brother, Bobby Cloud of Bainbridge, GA; her sister, Vinnie Wimberly of Bainbridge, GA; her great-grandchildren, Cory Southall, Amanda Southall, Kim Rhoades, Jessica Rhodes, and Bobby Rhoades; her great-great grandchildren, Matt Hall and Serena Nix; and her former son-in-law, Donald Roy Southall and his wife, Catherine, of Valdosta, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Valentine and her daughter, Charlene Valentine Southall.
