Born in Fautenbach, Baden, Germany in 1815 (Fautenbach is a small borough very near Achern, Ortenau). Immigrated to the U.S. and married Elizabeth Conrad in NYC in 1842. One son, Andrew, born there, then they moved to Gibson Co IN in 1844. Elizabeth passed in 1851; Anton then married Appolonia Harnischfeger in Vanderburgh Co, 1852. He had his plot of land to the east of the railroad track and along it, just SE of Haubstadt. Anton died April 17 and was interred at St. James April 20, 1887. Son Philip Genter was the executor of his estate.
