Orlando "Woody" Woodyard, 82, of Vienna passed away April 12, 2011 at his residence.

He was born September 14, 1928 in Palestine, W.Va., a son of the late Ota F. and Grace Virginia Gibson Woodyard.

Woody graduated from the Wirt County High School and attended the Mountain State Business College. He was a United States Army Vetern of the Korean War.

Woody retired from Keene Penn Metal and also retired from the Alabama Metal Industries, where he was well known and respected in his profession. He was an active member of the Vienna Baptist Church where he served on numerous committees and boards.

Woody enjoyed golf and spending time with "his girls", Rosie and Debbie. He was a former member of the Vienna Lions Club.

Woody is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Conley Woodyard whom he married December 3, 1950; one daughter, Debra Gerhold of Little Hocking, Ohio; a special "team" member and his special granddog "Allie".

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Woodyard.

A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Vienna Baptist Church, with Pastors, Bill Brown and Dennis Pratt officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Vienna Baptist Church.
