Champion Race Horse. In 1933 Insco was purchased by Kansas City businessman Herbert M. Woolf (Woolf Brothers Clothing Stores) for $500. Insco sired Lawrin. Eddie Arcaro made his first Kentucky Derby appearance riding Lawrin in 1938, and together they won the 64th running of the Kentucky Derby in 2 minutes, 4 4/5 seconds. Lawrin lived to be 20, and was buried at Woolford Farm where he was born, next to his sire Insco. The farm was sold about 1955, and today the area is well developed, including shopping centers, housing, library, etc. The gravesite is in the cul-de-sac at 59 Le Mans Court, Prairie Village, Johnson County, Kansas, which is just NW of Mission Road & Sommerset, in the housing area behind the library.
