Alexia J. Mauk, of Elkins, West Virginia and formerly of Canfield and Austintown, passed away on Saturday April 9, 2011 at 8:45 p.m. from a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 48 years old.
Alexia was born on February 8, 1963 in Beaver Falls, PA the daughter of Donald E. and Rosemarie (Jurkiewicz) Tress and was a 1981 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School graduating as Valedictorian of her class. She furthered her education as a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She was currently a supervisor for Target and Dick Sporting Goods Stores in Elkins.
Alexia had a love and enjoyment for Walt Disney World. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and collecting Dept 56 Snow Villages.
While living in Elkins, Alexia was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church. Here in Canfield, Alexia was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Alexia is survived by her husband of 24 years Randy P. Mauk, whom she married on July 26, 1986; her mother, Rosemarie of Austintown; her mother-in-law Laura J. Mauk of Hubbard; brother Christopher (Patricia) Tress of Niles; a niece Heather Tress and a nephew Nicholas Tress both of Niles.
Alexia was preceded in death by her father Donald and father-in-law Parnell F. Mauk.
