Looking to find any records of the G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic), the Union Civil War veterans organization, showing Perry C. Garlow (Garloch, Garlock) on their lists or any other info. Most likely would be an Ohio, local city group. The G.A.R.'s round metal symbol is next to Perry' marker. The current 'Sons of the G.A.R.' organization did receive some of their predecessors records.
Family had handed down knowledge, that Perry was a drummer-boy on the Union side in the War. He would have been about 12 to 13 years old, and is not listed as a soldier.

Looking for any family photo of Perry, and any photo of his children.

A great Himes large family photo is posted on familysearch. In the photo is Perry Garlow's wife, Margaret Himes/Garlow, her parents and many of her siblings.
This photo would have been taken during her marriage to Perry Garlow, unfortunately he is not in the photo. Only the large Himes family is in the photo along with their parents.

(In honor of Perry, some descendants and at least one other relative had been given 'Perry' as their middle name.)
