RAY SIMS RITES HELD TUESDAY

Funeral services for Ray Sims, 38, of Grammer, who was killed in a road accident near Bedford Saturday, were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Grammer Presbyterian church with the pastor, the Rev. A. R. Miles, in charge. Burial was made in Garland Brook Cemetery.

The funeral was one of the largest ever held in Grammer. The services opened with a number, "In the Garden," by a male quartet, composed of Lloyd Brougher, Frank Edelman, John Fletcher and Marvin Michael. The quartet also sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me." The minister gave an obituary and sermon and paid tribute to the deceased man.

There were many floral tributes, and these were carried by Miss Virginia Talkington, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Evans, Mrs. Goldie Brougher, Mrs. Itha Nugent, Mrs. Alma Huffman, Mrs. Goldie Anthers, Mrs. Bertie Hook, Miss Fay Wolf, Miss Geneva Engle, Mrs. Opal Youman, Mrs. Lura Fletcher and Miss Elizabeth Kelley.

The pallbearers were Orville and Lester Reed, Charles Maddox, Cecil Hubbard, Wayne Davis and William Shinolt.

Mr. Sims' funeral followed just three days that of his uncle, Chas A. Sims, who died at his home in East Columbus. Services were held Saturday afternoon at Hathaway funeral home, conducted by the Rev. W. H. Wylie. Burial was made in Garland Brook Cemetery.

The services were simple and there was no music, but instead the minister read two hymns, "Lead Kindly Light," and "In the Garden." There were a large number of floral tributes, carried by his nieces, and the pallbearers were William Mizer, Fred McNeal, Harry Brooks, Lon Fitch, Paul Vogler and Newton Wetzel.
