Sarah was born in Virginia. On March 31, 1812, she married George Sudduth in Culpepper County, Virginia. In that same year, George and Sarah moved to Woodford County, Kentucky. They resided there until 1827 when they moved to Franklin County, Kentucky.

Sarah and George were the parents of 11 children, Juliann, George Washington, Attaway Wood, Henry, Sarah Ann, William Henry Harrison, Sebastian Lafayette, Franklin Duane, Lucretia, Theophilis O'Bannon, and Cordelia.

All of their children, except their firstborn, Juliann, are buried in the Sudduth Family Graveyard on St. John's Road.
