Bradley Conger was born in 1819 to Joel Bradley & Mary (Higgens) Conger in Connecticut. He married Sarah Mary Elizabeth Kirk on Wednesday, January 1, 1840 in Clinton County, Ohio. Bradley & Sarah lived in Union, Clinton County, Ohio until about 1859; moving to Richfield, Henry County, Ohio before the Civil War.

Bradley served the Union during the Civil War; enlisting April 2, 1862 at the age of 43 in Clinton County, Ohio as a Private in Co E 61st Ohio Infantry. Bradley fought in Culpeper, Virginia, Freeman’s Ford, Virginia & the 2nd Bull Run battles. Bradley mustered out & was medically discharged for disability on November 10, 1862.

Bradley & Sarah had 12 known children with 9 living to adulthood:
