HOWARD W. GUNTER
Howard William "Red" Gunter, 51, of RD 1, Eckhart, was found dead yesterday afternoon at his home. Authorities said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
He was a son of Mrs. Tillie (Reiber) Gunter, Grahamtown, and the late Herbert Gunter.
Besides his wife Mrs. Belle (Weisenborne) Gunter he is survived by two sons, Larry H. Gunter, Pocomo City, and John H. Gunter, at home, and a sister, Mrs. Mary G. Stair, Frostburg.
Mr. Gunter, who was employed by the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, was a member of Local 26, United Rubber Workers, and was affiliated with Eckhart Baptist Church.
The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home, 60 West Main Street, Frostburg, where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
A service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. by Rev. George Hatten-field. Burial will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
