Mary E. Stair, 94, of Frostburg, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born October 16, 1922, in Grahamtown, to the late Herbert and Matilda (Reiber) Gunter.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William D. Stair; and a brother, Howard Gunter; she is the last of her immediate family.
Mrs. Stair was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Frostburg, member and past matron of Mountain Chapter 15 O.E.S. She was a retired clerk from Sears. She was a member of the Beall High School Class of 1940.
Surviving are her sons, William H. Stair and wife Karen, Frostburg, Jerald Lee Rae and wife Donna, West Middlesex, PA, and Dr. Harry Gunter Rae and wife Gayle, Cape Cod, MA,; three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 2-5 pm. Mountain Chapter 15 O.E.S. will conduct services at 4 pm.
Funeral and Committal Services will follow at 5 pm with Rev. Karen Crosby officiating.
Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park at a later date.
