Emma Guyles Nash was the daughter of John F. and Lydia B. Guyles.

She married Lyman Junius Nash on Sept 2, 1873 in Manitowoc, WI. They had three children: Archie L., Alice (White) and Francis John.

Emma graduated from Laurence University, Appleton, WI. She taught school before her marriage. Her husband was a teacher, then a lawyer and politician. She and her husband lived in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

MRS. NASH IS HURT IN FALL
Widow of Attorney Taken To The Hospital
Mrs. Emma Nash, widow of the late Lyman J. Nash, prominent Manitowoc attorney,
is a patient at the Holy Family hospital suffering from a fractured hip as a
result of a fall at the Nash home on Michigan avenue on Tuesday. Mrs. Nash's
condition is critical on account of her advanced age. She is 84.
The eyesight of Mrs. Nash has been impaired of late and in rising to go across
the room without assistance she fell, breaking her hip. She was removed to the
hospital so that X-ray pictures could be taken of the fracture.

INJURIES FROM FALL FATAL TO MRS. L.J. NASH
Widow of Late Attorney To Be Buried From Home On Saturday
Failing to rally from the shock suffered when she fell and fractured her hip
on Tuesday, Mrs. Emma Nash, widow of the late Attorney Lyman J. Nash, died
Thursday night at the Holy Family hospital. She was 84 years of age and one
of the pioneers of the city, having come here with her parents in 1856, when
a girl of eight years from Waukegan, Ill.
Despite her advanced years Mrs. Nash enjoyed good health and although she
suffered impaired eyesight in the last few months has taken almost daily walks.
In walking across the room at the Nash home, 1316 Michigan avenue, on Tuesday
afternoon she fell and fractured her hip. She was removed to the hospital but
sank rapidly until the end came last night.
Funeral Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. Nash will be held Saturday afternoon at three o'clock
from the home on Michigan avenue with interment in the family lot in Evergreen
cemetery.
The deceased was born March 31, 1848, at Waukegan, the daughter of John F. and
Lydia B. Guyles. Her maiden name was Emma A. Guyles. The Guyles family moved
to Manitowoc in 1856 when Mr. Guyles entered the lumbering business here in
partnership with George Pankratz, the mill of this company being located for
many years at the south end of Tenth street bridge.
Married in 1873
She was married to Lyman J. Nash in this city Sept. 2, 1873, and (can't read)
gan avenue, which has continued since as the Nash homestead. Mrs. Nash was
one of the founders of the Clio club, a literary organization which has funct-
ioned here for many years. She was also a life long member of the Methodist
church and was actively identified with the St. Paul's M.E. church, North
Seventh street.
Mr. and Mrs. Nash observed their golden wedding anniversary in this city in
1923. Mr. Nash died March 23, 1930.
There are three surviving children, Atty. Archie L. Nash of this city, Mrs.
Alice Nash White of Detroit, Mich., and Francis J. Nash of New York City.
Mrs. White and Francis Nash, advised by wire of their mother's accident reached
the city this morning.
