CARL DEVERICK DIED AT HIS HOME
Carl Deverick, who has been ill for the past few years from an attack of tuberculosis, passed away this morning at seven o'clock at his home a short distance northwest of the city. Mr. Deverick had been in Colorado for the past year and a half for his health but the disease had gained such headway that nothing was beneficial and on returning to Charleston he realized that his days were numbered. The deceased was born in 1877 in Coles Co. and had made this his home all his life. A few years ago he was united in marriage with Miss Gahey who with four children survive him. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by his mother, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Ingram of Hutton, and Mrs. Rhoda Gillfillen of Topeka, Kansas, and two brothers, Mert Deverick of Springfield, Mo. and Claud Deverick who lives with his mother south of Charleston, besides many friends.
The funeral cortege will leave the house at about one o'clock Wednesday afternoon and go to Mt. Zion church, south of the city where the funeral services will be held between two and two thirty o'clock, and will be in charge of the Rev. Murray Stone. Burial will be made in the Mt. Zion cemetary near the Church.
