Mr. Hartman was co-owner of the former Hartman Food Market. He was a native of Burlington and was born July 18,1891, the son of Joseph and Edith Furrow Hartman. He was married to Anna Schulz at Kahoka, Mo., on April 1, 1914. Mr. Hartman was a member of First Christian church.
Surviving: the wife; sons, Russell Hartman, of Tustin, Calif., and Wesley Hartman of Sperry; daughters, Mrs. Lois Blow, of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Phyllis Saldeen, Mrs. Mildred Wasson, and Mrs. Charlotte Gerling, all of Burlington; sisters, Mrs. Grace Anderson, of Joliet, Ill., and Mrs. Edna Franklin of Marco, Fla.; 24 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Four brothers died previously.
