T. Y. HARP'S INDIAN RELICS
T. Y. Harp of Mer Rouge, for years a noted collector of American Indian relics, now has some relics from a different and older civilization - the Aztec culture of Mexico. The relics, many of which are real museum pieces, were sent to Mr. Hap by the late Claude T. Prescott, a former geologist who turned archaeologist. Prescott became acquainted with Mr. Harp several years ago while he was practicing his profession of geology; Later, Prescott abandoned geology to follow his hobby and became archaeologist and curator of the Arkansas Museum of Natural History at Little Rock. Funeral services were held this morning for Thomas Y. Harp, 95, a native and lifelong resident of Mer Rouge. The Rev. A. W. Coody officiated at services, held in the chapel of Golden's Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Harp Cemetery on the Bonne Idee. Mr. Harp died at 98:55 am Sunday at Oak Woods Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Harp was well known for his historical research of the settling of Morehouse Parish and for intensive research into the life of the famous hunter and outdoorsman, Ben Lily.
