Precision being a crucial factor for successful coopers, they were generally very talented with crafting anything of wood and hardware. Cordelia Crowell was born on the 22nd of January, 1838, in Mount Vernon, Knox County, Ohio, the daughter of John 1789-1884 and Nancy Jane [Stinemetz] Crowell 1801-1843, and she died on the 4th of September, 1913, in Mount Vernon, Knox County, Ohio. They are both buried in the Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Salathiel and Cordelia had seven or more children; George Henry Bumpus 1872-1879, thrown from horse and died, aged almost 8 years; Mary Belle Bumpus 1873-1929, married James P. Kelly 1869-1916; John Frederick Bumpus Sr. 1874-1934, married Ida May Smith 1878-1934; Cordelia Ann Bumpus 1876-1940, married Robert I.
