Robert Hall's first wife was Hannah (Mary) Greer probably the daughter of Thomas Greer. She did not accompany her husband to American but remained in Ireland. Her sons immigrated to New York State in the early 1870's probably after her death. May be the Mary Hall who was renting a house in Ballyargan from William Smith and is shown on Griffith's Valuation of Tenements, page 32. Ballyargan is about 1-1/2 miles south east of Druminure and 3 miles south of Tandragee. One daughter Agnes Hall remained in Ireland. Her brother Thomas Hall returned to Ireland in 1921 and visited with her children. Her married name is unknown. He was accompanied to Ireland by Hugh Greer of Fillmore.

Death of a Veteran

Robert Hall, a farmer and well known resident of Granger, who has resided there since 1860, died at his residence at 1:30 o'clock, May 5th at the advanced age of 82 years.

Mr. Hall was born in Ireland in 1822, where he married and raised four children, two of whom are living and well known in this community--William and Samuel Hall. Mr. Hall came to this country about 1850 and was married in 1858 to Ellen Maloney, who survives him and by whom he had eight children, five of which are living--Mrs. Maggie Spencer of Rochester, Mrs. A. H. Preston, Lincoln Hall, Mrs. A. J. Clark of Michigan and Mrs. A.E. Histed of Rochester. Two children met with violent deaths, a little girl having been burned to death and a son, Robbie Hall, having been drowned in the Genesee river.

Mr. Hall enlisted and served in the Civil war from its begining until it closed.

The funeral was held at the M.E. church, Short Tract, Rev. Mr. Brace officiating, fter which the remains were taken in charge by the G.A.R. Post who marched to the cemetery where they performed the last sad rites.

Mr. Hall was respected by all who knew him and leaves a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn his lost.
