Elice "Eli" Hensley
Elice "Eli" Hensley, age 78, of Marion, N.C. passed away Saturday, April 02, 2011 at Grace Hospital in Morganton.
He was born February 9, 1933 in Yancey County, NC, to the late Bascomb and Elva Austin Hensley.
Mr. Hensley retired from the City of Marion working in maintenance and will be remembered not only for his avid fox hunting and love for NASCAR racing, but as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Buchanan Hensley; one son, Timothy Hensley; one daughter, Misty Hensley Thorne and two grandsons, Eric and Brian Hensley.
Deeply saddened by this loss are four children; H. B. Hensley of Nebo, Joyce Burleson and husband Jimmy of Nebo, David Hensley and wife Gina of Marion and Angie Duncan and husband Jeff of Nebo; two brothers, Hartcel and Dan Hensley; three sisters, Osie Pendland, Essie Boone and Nellie Thomas. Eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Interment at Murphy's Chapel Cemetery.
