MARY A. RYON
---Mrs. Mary A. Ryon died Monday, July 13 at the home of her son, C.G. Wilson, here at the age of eighty-two. She had been in failing health for some time.
---Funeral services were held at the home of her son Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Fred L. Hudson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of which she had been a member since early childhood. Burial was in the La Plata cemetery.
---Mary Abner Turner, daughter of Elijah and Martha Yates Turner, was born in Randolph County, Missouri on March 28, 1848. She moved to the New Harmony district in Macon County when she was a small child.
---She was married to James Wilson on January 18, 1872. After her marriage she lived in and near La Plata until three years ago when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Vergie Kent of Kirksville. Besides these two children Mrs. Ryon leaves seven grandchildren, Sidney and Ray Ryon of Kirksville, Marthena, Ben, Alta Mae, Charliamia and Mary Margaret Wilson and two great-grandchildren, Mildred Lee and Bobby Ryon and she also leaves the following brothers and sisters, Paul Turner of Fowler, Kansas, Elijah of Amarillo, Texas, Charlie of Colorado, Bud of Oklahoma, R.B. Turner and Mrs. Frances Miles of La Plata. Mrs. Miles was with her sister during her last illness.
---Her husband preceded her in death in 1890. She was later married to Henry O. Ryon who died several years ago.
