C.B. HOUSTON FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY AFTERNOON
The funeral of C.B. Houston was held at his home northwest of Eldon Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. A.L. Alexander, pastor of the Christian Church. A large number of relatives and friends were present. Mr Houston suffered a paralytic stroke the week before and never rallied.
Burial was made at Salem cemetery with Yows Funeral Home services.
Collier Brown Houston was born in Miller County, January 27, 1872, the only son of the late Hiram and Drucilla Houston, and passed away April 11, 1938.
January 18, 1894, he was united in marriage to Margaret Belle Howard and to this union were born 15 children, four of whom preceded him in death. two infants, and one daughter, Eunice, and a son Porter.
Mr. Houston was a good honest man and has contributed his part to the good of the world. He has been a good father and husband and will be sadly missed by his love ones and friends.
He leaves to morn his passing, his wife, Mrs Margaret Houston, and eleven children, Mrs. Tom Dane and Mrs. George Shoemaker of Eldon, Mrs. Sherman Cooper and Mrs. Gilbert Gerber of Morton, Was., Lon Houston of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. John Madole and Mrs. Charles McDow of Barnett, Wollard Houston of Warrensburg, and Bernium, Carl and Wanda of the home; one sister
Mrs. Naomi J. Taylor, of Eldon and 27 grandchildren.
