SHERRICK W. MURPHY TAKEN BY DEATH – A hemorrhage of the lungs was fatal, Sunday evening at 6:30, to Sherrick W. Murphy, 15 year old son of Mrs. Merle Wells Murphy and the late Elmer Murphy. Sherrick had not been well, the past month, but his death was unexpected.
Born in Malta, Feb. 20, 1941, he attended the Malta school and had completed the seventh grade. He also belonged to the Malta Methodist Church and was a regular attendant at services. Gifted by nature with a pleasant disposition, he was able to adjust himself to everyday living, despite physical handicaps, and particularly enjoyed motion pictures.
Surviving are the mother and one sister, Shirley, of the home. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Raymond D. Pope at the Fisher funeral home at 1:30 p.m. yesterday, with burial in Malta cemetery. [August 30, 1956, Morgan County Herald]
