Mrs. Etta C. Truaz died at her home on Pleasant Ridge, this county, Wednesday, September 2, 1936, she having been stricken with a paralytic stroke on Sunday before and remaining helpless until death claimed her.

She was a daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Mellott Garland and was born October 21, 1870, being aged 65 years, 10 months and 11 days.

She was united in marriage to Stilwell Truax on September 21, 1888 and is survived by the following children: Oscar Truax, of Knobsville; Sadie Mellott of Hancock, Md.; Chester Truax, of McConnellsburg; Frankie O. Mellott, widow of J. W. Mellott, of Needmore RD; Clemie Truaz, of Needmore RD; one son having preceded her in death. She is also survived by 9 grand children, two brothers, John F. Garland of Needmore and Rev. C. C. Garland of Needmore, two sisters, Mrs. George S. Mellott of Needmore RD 2, and Mrs. Elizabeth Garland of Needmore, and one half-sister, Mrs. Mason Mellott, of Needmore.

Mrs. Truax was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Brethren Church since 1902.

She was a good mother and wonderful helpmate and was always ready to help in time of need, especially in her church. She will be sadly missed in the community.

Services were held at her home on Friday following her death and further funeral services were held at the Pleasant Ridge Brethren church, conducted by Rev. D. I. Pebble of Woodbury, Pa., assisted by Rebs. John Mellott and B.E. Waltz of Needmore. Interment was made in the Church cemetery.
