Bessie Viola Ward was born September 30,1917 in Atchison, Atchison County, Kansas. She was the daughter of John William Ward and Mildred Lein-Ward. She married first a Mr. Murry and they had one son Miles Murry together. She married 2nd John Henry Fitzgerald. Bessie and John had no children together. She helped to rasie John's three small children: John Henry Fitzgerald, Charles William Fitzgerald and Betty Jean Fitzgerald-Johnson as if they were her own. She was a wonderful mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother. She was an amazing woman! She loved to garden, paint ceramics and also portraits of outdoor scenes. Most of all she loved her family.
