Martha Malinda Haught was born about 1824 in (West) Virginia. A daughter of Joseph and Ann Elizabeth Haught.

She married Levi Haught, son of Tobais and Catherine (Hensel) Haught, on May 23, 1842 in Washington County, Ohio.

Together they had at least 10 children: Rebecca (1843-1924), Joshua (1845-1917), Diena (1848-1925), Joseph (1849-1925), Mary Anna (1851-1933), Pleasant (1853-1923), Catharine (1855-1900), Jacob (1859-), George McCelland (1862-1945) and Nancy.

Levi disappeared and was never heard from again. According to Tobias' obit. in 1884, he had not been heard from since 1865.
