Mrs. Emma Bohn was born at Schlocholtz Kreitfelde, Germany, the daughter of Carl and Emilie (Barr) Boehnke. She came to the United States at the age of 10 with her parents. They settled near Garner. She married Willhelm E. Bohn in 1892. He died in 1937. She lived on the family farm north of Ventura, 77 years.
Survivors include three sons, Otto and Albert, at home, and Emil, Mason City; a daughter, Mrs. Max (Bertha) Dietrich, Mason City; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Arthur, a daughter, Elsie, one grandchild, three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Augusta) Bohn and Mrs. Wm. (Elvina) Pueggle, both of Garner; and a sister Bertha, who died at the age of eight; and five brothers, Ferdinand, Emil, Carl, Julius of Ventura and Gustaf of Garner.
