Civil War Union Army Soldier. Served as a Private and Wagoner in Company A, 11th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry, being mustered in on July 15, 1862, and mustered out on June 6, 1865.

William Lanning is Dead
Pennington - December 11 - William Lanning, a retired carpenter and veteran of the Civil War, died today at his home here in the eightieth year of his age. He had been an invalid for four years. One daughter, Miss Emma Lanning survives. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with interment in Pennington Cemetery.
Civil War Union Army Soldier. Served as a Private and Wagoner in Company A, 11th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry, being mustered in on July 15, 1862, and mustered out on June 6, 1865.
