* Amanda Rowe was born on the 15th of July, 1848 in Fredericktown, Knox County, Ohio, the daughter of Lewis and Mary [Campbell] Rowe. The father, Lewis Rowe, was born on the 9th of April, 1812, in New York, and died on the 2nd of April, 1897, in Knox County, Ohio. The mother, Mary Campbell, was calculated to have been born about 1815, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Richard 1790-1839 and Susannah [Lantz] Campbell 1789-1868. Mary died on the 2nd of March, 1897 in Knox County and is buried with her husband in the Green Valley cemetery, Mount Vernon. Lewis and Mary were married on the 17th of January, 1841, in Knox County, Ohio and they had four children known; Sarah Rowe 1843-1899, Lyman K. Rowe, Amanda Rowe 1848-1929, and Martha Rowe 1850?. Amanda Rowe was married to Benjamin Franklin Dean 1851-1900 on the 19th of December, 1873 in Wayne Township, Knox County, Ohio. @ Source: Marriage Records, Knox County, Ohio, volume 2, page 482, and they had three children; James Lewis "Lew" Dean 1875-1966, married Clara May Jones; Charles Elmer Dean 1978-1968, married Edith May Streby 1881-1960 and Mary Margaret Dean 1891-1979, married Charles C. "AMANDA DEAN - Fredericktown, Jan. 7 -- Following a short illness with pneumonia, Mrs. Amanda Dean died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Rinehart of this place, Saturday evening at 6 o'clock. Mrs. Dean was 80 years of age and leaves the daughter, Mrs. Rinehart with whom she made her home; and two sons, Lewis and Charles, both of this place. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Rinehart home. The Rev. James G. Hunt of Mount Vernon officiated and the interment was made in the Forest cemetery." @ Source: Mount Vernon News, Monday, 7 January, 1929.
