Gertrude was the first wife of Andrew Joseph Stablein, they were married on 26 APR 1892 at the St. Joseph's Church by H. Wagener, Roman Catholic Clergyman, in Edina, Knox County, Missouri.

— Mr. Andrew Stablein and wife, arrived in Edina from St. Louis, on Friday last, where Mrs. Stablein had been under treatment for bone cancer on her arm. She is at present at her fathers, Mr. H. Sandknop, in a very critical condition.

Mrs. Gertie Stablein, wife of Andrew Stablein, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sandknop, this city, died at 6 o'clock a. m., on Saturday last, of cancer. She had been suffering for over a year, had been sent to Chicago, St Louis and Keokuk for treatment, but to no avail. At the time of her death she was 26 years old; was a good kind woman, and has many friends who will deeply regret to hear of her death. Her remains were laid to rest at 2 p. m, Sunday in St Joseph's cemetery.
