MRS. GILMOE DIES THURSDAY
Mrs. F. A. Gilmore, aged 63 years, died Thursday at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs following an operation for gall bladder trouble. Mrs. Gilmore's husband died less than a year ago.She lives two sons, Russell Gilmore of Red Oak and Claude of Villisca and one daughter, Mrs. F. C. Peters of Red Oak.
Funeral services were held from the home at 807 Hammond Street Saturday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Ira Carney, pastor of the Christian Church. Friends who served as pall bearers were Charles Spice, E. S. Morrison, George Stafford, Ed Becknell, Harry Demming, and C. D. Beans. Burial was made in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Alice Chandler was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Chandler, old settlers of this county. She was born June 25, 1859 at Mt. Vernon, Wisconsin. She moved with her parents to Page County when 7 years of age. The Chandler family made the trip overland in a covered wage and settled first on land in Page County where they lived several years. Alice Chandler was married March 30, 1882 to William Augustus Gilmore. They lived for 35 years in this county and moved into Red Oak about 6 years ago and made their home since time. Besides the three children, she is survived by one brother, Fred Chandler of Norfolk, Virginia and one sister, Mrs. Eliza E. Allender of Essex and 8 grandchildren.
Mrs. Gilmore was a member of the Easter Star, Royal Neighbors, W. R. C., and of the Christian Church.
