Aaron Overmyer (spelling on his wife's gravestone) was a farmer and blacksmith. He married Anna Mary Reichly (Richley) on Feb. 27, 1862 in Perry County, Ohio.

He last appears as a widower in the 1880 census in Reading, Perry Co., OH.

The surname appears to be spelled "Overmire" or "Overmier" in the 1850 census. It is "Overmire" in the 1870 census and "Overmyre" in the 1880 census. Aaron was living with William Powel, an 11-year-old boy, in 1880; no one else was in the household, his wife was deceased. The relationship of William Powel to Aaron is unknown.
