Leon Crawley, 63, of McAlester, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on 2 September 2002 at Tannehill Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Bobby Price officiating. Burial was also at Tannehill Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.

Born July 24, 1939, in Scipio, he was the son of Warner and Birdie Gray Crawley and the grandson of Martin and Ella A. Crawley who are also buried at Tannehill Cemetery. He lived the majority of his life in Pittsburg County and was of the Baptist faith. He married Naomi Casey on June 5, 1959, in Hanford, Calif., and worked for several years as a truck driver and mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Crawley, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances and Michael Price and Jean Crawley, all of McAlester; three granddaughters, Jamie Rowell, of Crowder, Amber Price and Casey Long, both of McAlester; a special grandson, Charles Rowell, of Crowder.

Also, five brothers and a sister-in-law, Warner Crawley, Jr. of Savanna, Ernest Crawley, of Eureka, Calif., Bufford Crawley, of Scipio, Lonnie Crawley and Donald and Teresa Crawley, all of McAlester; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Barbara and Bill Abney of Tulare, Calif., Betty Hodges, of McAlester, and Elizabeth and Dennis Zink, of Clarksville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warner and Birdie Crawley; a brother, Kenneth Crawley, and a sister, Dorothy Cantrell.
