Grandma "Granny Go Go" grew up in a small town (Elkton) in South Dakota and went to school there. She had two sisters and two brothers. She married her first husband (Clarence Edward Andrews) on September 8th, 1932 at age 19. They had one son Floyd Andrews. Floyd drown at the age of 11 while on vacation at a lake. Clarence and her divorced and she married my grandpa (Vernon Whitaker) in 1938. At some point they went to Nebraska (Friends) as my mom (Betty DeHolt) was born there. I know they settled in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for several years.

In the 60's they moved to Melrose, Oregon and lived on a large Farm. My grandma worked in the Kitchen of a Senior home (Rose Garden in Roseburg). They sold that farm and moved to Yoncalla, Oregon and she continued to work there for several more years. She also worked at the Ranch Restaurant in Rice Hill.

When Vern died she moved in with her Daughter (Betty DeHolt) and family in Santa Ana California. There she enjoyed playing Bingo with her granddaughter, Going to the casino, yearly Vegas trips and shopping. They moved to
Galveston Texas in 2001 (March) where Granny Go Go continued the same fun activities.

She died just short of her 97th birthday mostly of a broken heart because her daughter (my mother) had just died. She truly just gave up living.
