William Lee Wells was the son of William Leonidas Wells and Emma Deupree.

Obituary:
William L. Wells Dies in Louisiana:

William L. Wells, 80, died early this morning in Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, La. after an illness of six weeks. Born in Vicksburg, his parents were Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Wells. He had resided in Opelousas for the past eight years. He began his career in the cotton business in New Orleans. At the time of his retirement 10 years ago, he was an accountant in New Orleans. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. William M. Raworth of Vicksburg and Mrs. A.L. McKee of Clarksdale; several nieces and nephews including Mrs. joseph R. Compton, Mrs. Eustis Conway Jr. and William Raworth, all of Vicksburg.
Graveside services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. W.F. Mansell, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge.
